Police say Barbosa was making a purchase at the 7-11 on July 6th, when Darius Gamboa’s father, 38 year old Ryan Gamboa, spotted Barbosa and phoned Darius. While Darius made his way to the convenience store from a nearby location, Ryan confronted Barbosa and engaged in a heated verbal altercation. The argument soon turned physical, when Ryan pulled a knife on Barbosa and threatened to kill him. Barbosa then ran across the parking lot and was fatally shot by Darius who had arrived, and was waiting around the corner of the building.

Ryan Gamboa is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to murder and is being held on $12,500 bail unitl his hearing in on Sseptember 27th. Darius is being held on a probation violation from Plymouth County and will be arraigned at a later date.
