The Wareham Burger King was damaged on Sunday afternoon, after a car waiting at the drive-thru window caught fire and the flames extended to the building's exterior.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 2:25 p.m., and the building was evacuated for safety. The fire did not spread to the inside, but the restaurant closed early because of the damage and because any unsealed food would no longer be safe for consumption.

No word yet on how quickly Burger King can resume operations, when they'll look to keep the flames under the burgers instead of outside the drive-thru. The car-b-que, on the other hand, was a total loss.
