Candidates Show Interest in Taking Over Vacant Ward 5

There’s no shortage of candidates in the Ward 5 City Council race less than a week after incumbent councilor Jane Gonsalves announced she was not running for re election. According to Southcoast Today, a total of six people had drawn papers to represent the ward. Among those taking out papers include Kenneth Rapoza, Janice “Jan” Baptist, Craig Dixon, Nancy Feeney, John “Jack” Radcliffe, and Christopher Gaffney.

Candidates have until Aug. 20 to file officially.
