Wallet Theft At Market Basket

New Bedford Police are investigating after a wallet was stolen from a customer at Market Basket.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says a woman was shopping around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and had her purse in a shopping cart.

When she was preoccupied a man reached into her purse and took her wallet which contained her debit cards and personal identification.

Vicente says detectives are reviewing video surveillance to see if the incident was caught on camera.
