If there was ever a Zombie Apocalypse, Cape Cod might not be the best destination—I mean, once those zombies take control of the bridges, you’re pretty much trapped—but it’s the place to be if you’re a zombie fan this weekend.

Cape Cod’s Haunted & History Tours, headed up by longtime Spooky Southcoast friend Derek Bartlett, is teaming up with Walker Stalker Convention and Raising Spirits for St. Jude to conduct the “Cape Cod Zombie Shamble.”

The special guest for the weekend will be actor Michael Koske, who has portrayed one of the “walkers” on AMC’s hit zombie-themed television show The Walking Dead.

The Shamble itself is on Sunday and is free to the public (although a $5 donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital is suggested). There will be a Zombie Fest from noon-2 p.m. at The Old Jail grounds in Barnstable, followed by the Zombie Shamble Charity Walk from 2-3 p.m. from The Old Jail to The Barnstable Restaurant & Tavern. Then from 3-5 p.m. will be an all-ages Zombie Hour party at the tavern.

For those looking for a more intense zombie encounter, you can purchase tickets to the Stalk & Walk VIP Experience on Saturday, for $60 per person. That will include “The Stalk Experience” presentation at the Howard Lodge in South Yarmouth beginning at 3 p.m., followed by a meet-and-greet reception at The Riverway Lobster House in South Yarmouth, before concluding with a private ghost hunt of The Old Jail from 8-11 p.m.

The entire weekend is to benefit St. Jude’s, and Sunday’s Shamble will also include vendors, photo ops, prize giveaways (including tickets to Walker Stalker Con in Boston), a zombie costume contest and more.
