Organizers for the 2nd annual Serve-A-Thon on the Southcoast have kicked off campaign efforts to raise funds and recruit volunteers for their upcoming event.

The group of volunteers will be donating their time and services to help with community projects in New Bedford, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, and Acushnet. The volunteers are sponsored by individuals and businesses to carry out the work.

Steve Bouley of the group "Lift-In-Love" tells WBSM News this is the perfect outlet for people who are looking to volunteer. "Most of us are too busy being busy than to think about how wonderful it is to really give something back," said Bouley. "And there's lots of folks that are looking for something like this to give back."

So far, Lift-In-Love has raised $10,000 ahead of volunteer efforts.

Once the work is completed on September 10th, all of the funds will be donated to the Salvation Army and Mobile Loaves and Fishes.
