Victim Identified in Deadly New Bedford Stabbing Thursday

NEW BEDFORD — Authorities have identified the man killed in an early morning stabbing in New Bedford.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says Allan A. Monteiro, Sr., 47, of New Bedford, was pronounced dead in an apartment at 345 Cottage Street. New Bedford Police were called to that address at around 5:25 a.m. on Thursday for a report of a stabbing. Monteiro was already dead when police arrived.

No arrests have been announced in connection to the murder.

New Bedford Police, along with Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office are investigating the homicide.
