The 11th annual Veterans Appreciation Day Where: The Fort Taber Fort Rodman Military Museum in New Bedford, 1000C S Rodney French Blvd. When: Tuesday, 1-5 p.m. What: Open house of the museum including the artifacts from the Revolutionary War through Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Coffee and pastries will be available.

Fairhaven Veterans Day Parade Where: Main Street from Oxford School and continues to Fairhaven High School. When: Tuesday, 10 a.m. What: (Veterans can enjoy coffee and doughnuts at the Recreation Center before the start of the parade). Dedicated to Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. Will feature keynote speaker Bill Kliegal, a two-tours veteran in the Middle East. There will be a ceremony at the end, with cannon firing.

New Bedford Veterans Day Parade Where: Starts at Buttonwood Park, ends by the viewing stand at New Bedford Free Public Library. When: Tuesday, 11 a.m. What: All veterans are invited to march, or ride in classic cars. Seven area bands will perform throughout the parade.

Westport Annual Veterans Day Observance Where: Westport, Beech Grove Cemetery, 947 Main Road. When: Tuesday, 10 a.m. What: All are invited to join in the town’s annual ceremony, featuring guest speaker Lino Rego, commander of Westport's American Legion Post.
