Here's a look at the numerous Veterans Day commemorations and activities throughout the South Coast on Tuesday, November 11th, 2014....

New Bedford Parade: The New Bedford Veterans Day Parade kicks off at 11am from Buttonwood Park, proceeding down Union Street to the reviewing stand in front of the New Bedford Free Public Library on Pleasant Street. A speaking program will begin after the parade.

New Bedford Veterans Appreciation: The Fort Taber/Fort Rodman Military Museum hosts the 11th Annual Veterans Appreciation Day from 1-4pm at the museum with an open house tribute to veterans.

Fairhaven Flag-Raising: A flag-raising is being held at 8am at Fort Phoenix by the North Fairhaven Improvement Association in honor of the late Victor Oliveira.

Fairhaven Parade: The Fairhaven Veterans Day Parade begins at 10am at the Oxford School with the parade heading south on Main Street, ending at Fairhaven High School. A brief ceremony will be featured along with a cannon-firing.

Wareham Parade: The Wareham Veterans Day Parade begins at 10am at Besse Park, traveling down Main Street to Town Hall.

Westport Ceremony: Westport is hosting a ceremony and speaking program beginning at 10am at Beech Grove Cemetery on Main Road.

Acushnet Ceremony: A ceremony is planned for outside Town Hall with a Coast Guard fly-over.
