New Bedford Police are investigating after two of the brand-new windows at the Hayden-McFadden School were broken by vandals.

Police say the windows appear to have been struck by a BB or a similar projectile. It was reported at 4:19 p.m. Wednesday, but it is not known exactly when the damage occurred.

The windows were replaced recently as part of a $14 million project that saw approximately 1,000 windows replaced at four New Bedford schools.
