Vandals struck an abandoned movie theater in New Bedford Wednesday night.

New Bedford Police say they received a report just after 9 p.m. of a break-in at the Flagship Cinema 12 on King's Highway. The theater has been closed since last summer.

There was report of damage to an exit sign, movie screens and a mirror in the bathroom. A fire extinguisher was also broken and sprayed. It also appears that a projector was stolen as well.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact New Bedford Police.
