Urban Grille New Bedford is A Great Addition To The Whaling City — Neal’s Night Out

I love to try new restaurants and this week I had a real treat! I discovered a great new place in downtown New Bedford, Urban Grille.

Urban Grille recently opened at 774 Purchase Street next door to The Pour Farm. When you first walk in you are greeted by a contemporary designed, well lit restaurant featuring creative use of stainless-steel and copper with plenty of seating.

When looking at the menu it was tough to decide what to get! The choices all looked so good, we ended up starting with a bowl of Sweet Potato Soup with Crème Fresh, which I have to say was one of the most delicious soup's I have had! We also decided to share Caprese Bites with Balsamic Reduction Dip which was also amazing. For dinner I went with Pan-Seared Sea Scallops over Citrus Beurre Blanc With Risotto and grilled asparagus. The scallops were cooked perfectly and they were very tasty, Donna went with the Sweet and Savory Pear Salad Mixed greens, wine-infused pear, dried cranberries, blue cheese, candied almonds and apple chips, she had them add grilled shrimp to the salad as well. The salad was delicious and the shrimp also cooked perfectly.

I can't wait to head back to the Urban Grille to try more of the items on the menu, there's a great selection of steaks and a swordfish dish that is amazing, according to another diner in the restaurant who was sitting near us and just had to share her experience.

It's nice to see more business opening up in downtown New Bedford and I urge you to try the Urban Grille for a fine dining experience. As of right now they do not have a liquor license, so it is B.Y.O.B, there is a package store not far from the restaurant if you want to grab something last minute.
