Update: Shooting In New Bedford’s North End

A Wednesday night shooting in the North End sent a New Bedford man to Rhode Island Hospital after he was shot in the right shin.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the shooting took place around 7:00 p.m. near 878 Old Plainville Road and likely occurred as a result of an argument between the victim and another person.

A knife belonging to the victim was recovered at the scene.

The victim, described as a 30-year-old man, was in stable condition and has been described as uncooperative.
