Update on Chris Markey Assault

More details on the weekend assault on State Representative Chris Markey have been revealed.

David Oliveira of Merrymount Drive in Dartmouth, a former representative for the city on the Steamship Authority Board, is accused of allegedly assaulting the state representative apparently over a state job nomination.

According to published reports, Markey suffered a collapsed lung in the attack and was hospitalized for 2 days. Dartmouth Police filed court documents accusing Oliveira of the assault. 3 sources confirmed that Oliveria has worked for the late Senator Kennedy as well as former congressman Frank and Mayor's Kalisz and Lang.

His lawyer, Frank Camara, says that his client has no comment on the incident.
