United Interfaith Action Rallies Support For Innovation Schools

Days before the School Committee vote on Innovation Schools,  backers of those plans rallied Thursday night at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church. 

Several speakers from United Interfaith Action urged "yes" votes for the Esperanza and Renaissance Schools, but Mayor Jon Mitchell told the crowd of 200, he is still undecided.....

Mitchell says there will be costs associated with the new schools, and with a $3 million shortfall in the school budget, he was concerned about starting a project and not being able to finish it. 

The School Committee will vote on the Innovation School proposals on Monday night.
