Government leaders say the recovery is on and companies are starting to hire again. That may be so, but local students looking for work in their chosen fields say they're having a tough time finding employment.

Siyana Petrova of Taunton, an accounting major, attended Wednesday's job fair at UMass Dartmouth, and right now she says, its tough finding a job. She described the job market as "tough." Petrova says while there are jobs, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot in her chosen field.

The Job Fair was sponsored by the New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with UMass Dartmouth and B-C-C. It featured dozens of companies offering jobs in fields like healthcare, retail operations, food preparation, and green energy.
