UMass Dartmouth is welcoming new faculty members for the upcoming academic year. The University has recruited 40 new faculty members from across the country.

UMass Dartmouth spokesman John Hoey tells WBSM News in recent years the campus has been attractive to teachers of every caliber. "Even if they're research faculty and they're really dedicated to the idea of discovery, they still get to engage in real teaching and interacting with undergraduate students and engaging undergraduate students in their research, and inspiring those students," says Hoey.

Hoey says most of the new members are replacing retiring professors in virtually every department within the University.
