Two loaded handguns and some ammunition, including hollow-point shells, were seized on the UMass Dartmouth campus this week from a student who claims to be a part-time police officer in Pennsylvania.

32 year old William Deforte will be summonsed into District Court on a felony charge of carrying a handgun on a college campus.  Deforte was also suspended from the university.

UMass spokesman John Hoey says Deforte apparently showed the weapons to other students, and they told campus police.

Hoey says Deforte was also living in the Cedar Dell Dorm without permission and will face student conduct charges.
