Two UMass Dartmouth seniors have raised over $9,000 for cancer research and hope to add to that number as they ride across the country this summer.

Zachary Boyer and Evan Foster will depart from Baltimore's Inner Harbor Sunday, June 30th, and ride to Pikes Place Market in Seattle, Washington as part of the 4K for Cancer ride supporting the Ullman Cancer Fund for Young Adults.

It's Foster's first time riding, but he says he's up for it.

"The more I grow up, the more I learn I can do pretty much anything I cant. I can bike across the country, raise this amount of money and do it. It's crazy but we're doing it."

Boyer completed the ride from Baltimore to Portland, Oregon in 2012 and got Foster interested this school year.

The two will be riding along with around twenty other college students as part of their team. They will spend 70 days trekking the country and visiting communities along the way.

WBSM will post update from the 4K for Cancer throughout the summer as Boyer and Foster send in picture, videos, and comments.
