UMass Dartmouth is cancelling any planned fireworks for this year. University spokesman John Hoey tells WBSM News the summer Freedom Festival fireworks display was postponed until this season due to inclement weather.

Hoey adds a number of other activities, including homecoming, are already taking up a big portion of the campus' events schedule.

He says the university will plan on one of the best Fourth of July celebrations to date in 2015.
