UMass Dartmouth Chancellor Divina Grossman is hosting a "town meeting" style forum at the university today.

Some reports say faculty and staff members believe the meeting will address a multi-million dollar deficit that is causing the campus to cut back on spending.

UMass Dartmouth spokesman John Hoey tells WBSM News the meeting is actually part of a series of campus conversations, and Chancellor Grossman has had this planned for months.

Hoey says Grossman will be discussing improvements that can be made on campus, and reviewing feedback she's received over the past few months.

Hoey does say declining state and federal aid has taken a toll on university systems all over the nation.

Today's meeting takes place at 3pm in the UMass Dartmouth main auditorium.
