The U.S.Ambassador to Iceland says there are ways institutions here can benefit from working with entities in Iceland.

Robert Barber says UMass Dartmouth and New Bedford's fishing industry might benefit from working with the IOC, the Iceland Ocean Cluster, which is looking to use 100% of fish to create valuable products.....

Barber toured the new bio-engineering labs at UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday, and also stopped at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

Barber would like to see the Whaling Museum reach out to a whale museum in Iceland to help create new programs there. He called the New Bedford museum "a destination."

Barber was confirmed by the Senate as Ambassador to Iceland in December., 2014. He's from Cambridge, Massachusetts.
