The New England Patriots have set a date for the induction of former all-pro defensive back Ty Law into the team's Hall of Fame.

A post on the team's website yesterday announced that Law will be inducted on Aug. 1 at 4:30 p.m. The event will be held at the NRG Plaza, located next to the Patriots ProShop.

The event, which will honor Law's tremendous Pat's career, including three Super Bowl championships, will be open to the public and free.  It is also set to take place just before the team's annual in-stadium practice for season ticket holders.

Law's time with New England lasted 10 years and earned him the above mentioned three Super Bowl rings, along with four trips to the Pro Bowl. He was a guy who lived for the big moments and made some of his best plays in some of the most high pressure and high stakes games.

Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Craft praised Law calling him "one of the greatest players in franchise history" and saying that it will be an honor to bring him back and celebrate his great New England Career.

The honor which will see Law take his place next to many other Pats greats and some former teammates was earned based on a fan vote. As one of Law's biggest fans growing up (I still have his mint condition rookie card in a special case in my room) I have to say I'm right on board with this selection. Now I've just got to find a chance to get to that ceremony!
