Two women were hospitalized after being hit by car in Dartmouth.

Det. Kyle Costa says that at around 6:19 p.m. Thursday police were dispatched to the intersection of Old Westport Rd. at Cross Rd. over reports of a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.

It was determined that two women were struck by a 2013 Audi A4, driven by a 53-year-old Westport man.

One of the victims, identified as a 19-year-old woman, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital by ambulance.

The second victim, identified as a 21-year-old woman, was taken to St. Luke's Hospital.

Both women are students at UMass Dartmouth, spokesman John Hoey confirmed.

Costa says members of the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit are assisting with the investigation.
