Two New Bedford men are arrested on drug charges on Martha's Vineyard.

The Vineyard Gazette reports 27-year-old Aaron Watkins and 24-year-old Desmond Roderiques were arrested Friday night after they departed a ferry in Vineyard Haven, with police seizing 53 grams of heroin, 23 grams of cocaine, and several containers of marijuana found in the engine compartment of their 2014 Toyota Camry.

Police also searched a home in Edgartown, believed to be used by the two suspects and others as a base to deal drugs on the island. At the home, police found 80 grams of marijuana, methadone pills, and narcotics distribution paraphernalia.

Police say the arrests are a result of a three-month investigation which is still ongoing, with more arrests anticipated. Watkins and Roderiques are purportedly affiliated with the Monte Park street gang.

The two men are being held on $50,000 bail. They'll be arraigned on numerous drug charges on Friday in Edgartown District Court.
