Two fires in Fall River Sunday kept Spindle City firefighters busy. The morning fire was called in shortly before 11 at a 3 family home on Manchester Street and chased 8 people from their home. Deputy Chief Ambrose Smith tells the Herald News it was an electircal fire confined to the attic. Then yesterday afternoon, 11 adults and 2 children were chased from their Rodman Street home as a smokey fire broke out in the triple decker at around 3:30.

Firefighters rescued a woman and her child down a ladder from their third floor apartment. She was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all the displaced residents are being offered help by the Red Cross.
