Two people were sent to R I Hospital Friday as the result of a two car accident on Rt. 140.

District Fire Chief Michael Brodeur says that a pick up truck being driven by 64 year old Phillip Bouthillette of Warwick Rhode Island struck a vehicle driven by Patricia Gonsalves of South Dartmouth on the Braley Road on ramp to Rt. 140.

The pick up truck rolled over several times and fire crews had to use the jaws of life to extricate Bouthillette from the truck. He suffered head injuries while Ms. Gonsalves suffered a neck injury. The accident is under investigation by State Police and Chief Broudeur says the driver of the truck, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, may have suffered a medical event before the accident.
