NEW BEDFORD — Members of the New Bedford Police narcotics division arrested two people Monday, Aug. 13, following an investigation into street-level narcotics sales in the west end. One of those arrested is already out on bail and the other has an outstanding warrant.

Members of the narcotics division observed suspicious activity between individuals in two vehicles in the parking lot of CVS at 1145 Kempton St.

Narcotics detectives arrested the operator of one of the vehicles, Rebecca Grace, 47, of 188 Shaw St. Apt. 3, New Bedford, on charges of possession of Oxycodone with intent to distribute, distribution of Oxycodone and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

She was found in possession of 58 Oxycodone tablets and more than $300 in cash.
She also is out on bail for a domestic-related charge. Defendants are warned that if they are arrested again while on bail on a previous charge, they face revocation of bail.

Police also arrested a passenger in the other vehicle, Victoria Peterson, 29, of 57 Bates St. Apt. 211, Fall River, on charges of possession of Oxycodone, conspiracy to violate drug laws and on a warrant.

She was found in possession of more than 20 Oxycodone tablets.

She has a default warrant in connection with a charge of possession of class B substance with intent to distribute.

The arrests were made at about 7:06 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13.
