Two men are facing drug charges following a drug raid in New Bedford Wednesday afternoon.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that around 4 p.m. a search warrant was executed at 68 Nash Rd. Apt. 2 by members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau.

The raid was executed as part of an investigation into a cocaine delivery service.

The target of the investigation, identified as 22-year-old Ailton Pina, was arrested shortly after leaving the home in his Toyota Camry.

Vicente says another group of detectives entered the home where they found another suspect, identified as 21-year-old Ismael Gomes packing cocaine.

During the search police seized approximately 18 grams of cocaine, ½ gram of heroin, numerous prescription pills, a .223 caliber round of ammunition, as well as $30,965 in cash

Packaging material for the narcotics was also allegedly found in the apartment.

Vicente says the drugs have a combined street value of $1,000.

Both suspects were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning on various drug charges.
