Two men are facing drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop in Taunton on Sunday.

Massachusetts State Police say that at around 4:30 p.m. two troopers stopped an Audi A4 on Route 138 at Weir St. for motor vehicle violations.

Two of the vehicle's passengers, identified as 20-year-old Juhkwon Thomas of Dorchester and 18-year-old Reginald Jenkins of Taunton, were placed under arrest following an investigation.

State Police say a search of Thomas resulted in the discovery of a .380 Cobra Enterprise handgun, ammunition, and bags containing substances believed to be heroin and crack cocaine, as well as a knife in a sheath hanging from his neck.

A check of the firearm later revealed that police in Doraville, Ga. had reported it stolen.

Jenkins was also found to be in possession of a dangerous weapon, in this case brass knuckles.

Thomas is facing the following charges: Improper storage of a firearm; Carrying a firearm with ammunition; Possession of ammunition without a FID card; Unlawful possession of a firearm; Receiving stolen property +$250; Possess to distribute class A drug (Heroin); Possess class B drug (Cocaine); and Conspiracy to violate drug law.

Jenkins is being charged with Carrying a dangerous weapon and Conspiracy to violate drug law.

Both men were each held on $2500 bail, pending their arraignment Monday morning in Taunton District Court.

The driver was issued a summons after they were found to be in possession of Suboxone.
