Two Men Arrested In New Bedford Drug Raid

Two men were arrested during a drug raid by New Bedford's Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau in a 3rd floor apartment at 85 Windsor Street in the South End. 

Police arrested 24 year old Hailton Dacosta on Tuesday inside the apartment, and seized 13 bags of suspected cocaine and $554 in cash.

While police were in the apartment, another man knocked on the door.  Seeing the Narcotics officers, 23 year old Anthony Ellis of New Bedford started to run off, and according to Police, a 45 caliber handgun fell from his waistband to the ground.

He was apprehended and charged with firearms violations.  Both were scheduled for arraignment in New Bedford District Court.
