The driver of the vehicle, an 81-year-old New Bedford man, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. Police say he was alert and talking with authorities before being transported from the scene. His 77-year-old wife, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was also transported to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

A man who lives at the home tells WBSM News his wife was at home at the time of the crash. She was not injured.
