Two people were arrested in New Bedford following an investigation that began in Fairhaven.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says Fairhaven detectives were conducting surveillance of a Black Nissan Altima during an investigation regarding housebreaks that took place in that town.

They followed the suspects to the South End and notified New Bedford police.

Vicente says one of the suspects, identified as 34-year-old James Connor of Fairhaven, was running out of a yard on Seymour St. with a large screen television and getting in the Altima.

Detectives determined that he kicked in a rear door of an unoccupied home where he stold the television and a jar of change.

Vicente says the second suspect, identified as 28-year-old Skye Emerson of Fairhaven, was found in the driver's seat of the Altima while the burglary was occuring.

Both were arraigned Wednesday morning in New Bedford District Court on Breaking and Entering and Larceny charges.

Connor was also transported to the Fairhaven Police Department to answer charges in that town.
