A New Bedford couple is under arrest and charged with committing a house break on Durfee Street.

A neighbor spotted the couple's van in the driveway on Thursday, and saw the house break go down.

When police arrived, an alert officer spotted the van nearby, and made a vehicle stop on Mt Pleasant Street. Det. Captain Steven Vicente said police found jewelry hidden in the female suspect's pants. The couple's two year old daughter was also in the van.

Jeffrey Pina and Christie Marie Hoffman, both 26 years old, were charged with breaking and entering and larceny and will be arraigned Friday in New Bedford District Court

The toddler was placed in the custody of her grandmother.
