Two Fall River men have been charged with murder in connection with a homicide last month in the Spindle City.

Nineteen year old Kevin Lara will be arraigned Wednesday in Fall River District Court.  17 year old Tavon Pires was arraigned Tuesday and ordered held without bail.  Both have been charged with murder and five firearms related charges in the March 20th shooting death of 20 year old Anthony Carvalho in Fall River. The announcement was made Tuesday by District Attorney Thomas Quinn and Fall River Police Chief Daniel Racine.

Police responded to reports of gunshots behind St. Anne's Hospital on the evening of March 20th, and found Carvalho in the middle of an intersection with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

District Attorney Quinn says he was pleased his office brought murder charges in the case. He called the shooting "a brazen homicide" that rattled an entire neighborhood.
