NEW BEDFORD - More drugs and guns off of New Bedford streets.

As part of another crime sweep in the North Front Street area Wednesday, detectives seized 58 grams of cocaine, crack cocaine, and a digital scale and packaging material, along with over $6,000 in cash. Police arrested 38-year-old Yamil Matos of New Bedford on charges of trafficking in cocaine over 35 grams and conspiracy to violate drug laws in connection to the seizure.

Police also arrested 37-year-old Ruben Madeira of New Bedford after he was found to be in possession of a loaded gun on Coggeshall Street. Madeira is charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of a large capacity shotgun/rifle.

Another loaded firearm was found at Bonneau Court during the crime sweep.
