NEW BEDFORD — New Bedford Police patrolling the area of Crapo Street arrest two people after witnessing them engage in suspicious behavior Monday night.

After further investigation, police discoverd one of the men was in possession of Oxycodone pills while the other was in possession of cash.

Police arrested Jose Corcino-Lopez, 38, of 127 Summit Street, New Bedford, and charged him with possession of Oxycodone with intent to distribute, possession of Oxycodone with intent to distribute (subsequent offense), and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Also arrested was Alfonso Martinez, 31, of 63 Clark Street, New Bedford. Martinez faces charges of possession of Oxycodone with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

The arrests were made at 7:37 p.m. on Monday in the 80-block of Crapo Street.
