Almost two years after the Boston Marathon bombing, the trial of suspect Dzhokar Tsarnaev is set to begin. Opening statements are scheduled for Wednesday in a federal courtroom in Boston.

Ultimately, 12 jurors will decide the fate of Tsarnaev, who faces the death penalty on over half of the 30 counts against him. Three people were killed in April of 2013 when two homemade bombs exploded near the marathon's finish line. More than 260 were injured.

Opening statements come after almost two months of jury selection. The prosecution's case will focus on overwhelming amounts of physical evidence, while the defense will claim Tsarnaev's older brother Tamerlan was the master of the bombing scheme.

The defense has asked to have the trial moved out of Boston, claiming it's impossible to find a fair and impartial jury there. The trial is expected to wrap up in June.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
