Police, fire and rescue vehicles from Fairhaven and Mattapoisett responded to a location on Goulart Memorial Drive in Fairhaven, where a truck has flipped over, struck a pole and landed in the water.  Police say as of right now, they have no idea what caused the crash.

The incident happened around 3pm.

Witnesses say at least one person has been pulled from the water and taken to St. Luke's Hospital.  Police Sgt. Kevin Kobza says rescuers determined the operator was the only person inside the vehicle.   Kobza said the victim is a 61-year old West Island man who's condition is not known.

Big Wheel Trucking is on scene to pull the truck out of the water.

We'll have more information as it becomes available.
