Over 100 people attended a National Night Out event at Old Rochester Regional High School Tuesday night.  

The event was held jointly by the towns of Marion, Rochester, and Mattapoisett and featured police cruisers, ambulances, fire trucks, swat vechiles as well as a demonstration from a k-9 unit. 

The event, which has been held nationally for 30 years, was the first for the Tri Town area.  Marion Police officer Anthony DiCarlo....

The town of Acushnet held a similar event Tuesday.  The City of New Bedford however had no event planned.  Organizers blamed a lack of funding and a shortage of volunteers. 

 The goal of 'National Night Out' is for members of the community to get out of the house and take a stand against crime in the community.
