"Children's limited downtime is increasingly spent on digital devices; disconnected from peers, nature, and the infinite opportunities inherent in the world around them. They no longer have the time, or a place, to play like a kid!" Mary Kate Murphy joins Kasey Silvia to talk about how she plans on solving that problem through Spark Playspace, and Spark's Mud Day event coming up on Saturday, June 23.

"Turn off your phones and connect with nature in a day filled with mud pies, mud slides, and lots of laughs. The Swansea Fire Department will be there to hose down the dirt, and the Ice Cream Barn will be selling their delicious homemade ice cream. This is sure to be a day your kid will never forget. No pressure to get muddy if it's not your thing- there is something for everyone at this memorable community event."

"Spark's Mud Day is for children 12 and under. Types of activities include: mud pool, mud slide, mud art station, mud kitchen, mud launcher, mud obstacle course, mud dinosaur dig, mud soccer, and so much more!"

"A $10 suggested donation (per kid) is very much appreciated, but we want all kids to attend, so please pay what you can. We take cash or credit card at the event. All proceeds go towards Spark’s permanent location coming to the Fall River area in the near future."

Tips:
• Bring a change of clothes and a towel
• Rinsing & changing stations will be available
• Water shoes are great. If you prefer to go barefoot, that works too.
• Don't wear flip flops. They just fall off in the mud.
• Have fun!!
