The 2018 version of "Operation Clean Sweep" begins Saturday, April 21st in New Bedford. The mission of the city-sponsored program is to get residents involved in keeping their own neighborhoods clean. The cleanups take place once a month in different neighborhoods around the city. Residents are urged to come out, grab a rake and a shovel, and make their own part of the planet cleaner and trash-free. Operation Clean Sweep's Diane Berube joins Jim Phillips on Townsquare Sunday to help kickoff the 2018 campaign.

Townsquare Sunday with Jim Phillips can be heard each Sunday at 6 a.m. on WBSM 1420 and WBSM.com. Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program highlighting non-profits and community organizations in the Greater New Bedford area.
