With more and more recreational boats roaming the waters off the Southcoast, there are more chances for accidents and mishaps. That's why the Coast Guard Auxiliary steps up every year, offering a boating safety class to recreational boat operators in our region. When something happens in your boat, those safety classes can save lives, especially when you have just a split second to act. Jeff Santos and Mary Beth Soares of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be joining Jim Phillips on WBSM's Townsquare Sunday to talk about the classes, why they're important, and how you can get involved.

Classes will be held at the Acushnet River Safe Boating Club located at 80 Middle St. in Fairhaven.
