The Legislative Committee on Tourism, Arts and Culture came to New Bedford on Friday to learn more about the creative economy in the region. They held a forum at the Whaling Museum, and listened to stake-holders explain the region's assests.

James Russell, Director of the New Bedford Whaling Museum, says the Committee got a full picture on what the Southcoast has to offer.

The panel also heard about the work of the Chamber of Commerce, to create a new convention and Visitors Bureau for Bristol County.

The Committee briefly toured sites in the City. They also visited Battleship Cove in Fall River.
