A state grant to promote tourism is coming to Bristol County, thanks to the work of the region's five Chambers of Commerce.

The Chambers have been working for more than a year to revive the Southeastern Mass. Convention and Visitors Bureau, and working with state lawmakers to restore funding.

New Bedford Chamber President Roy Nascimento says the $190,000  grant must be matched with local funds, and that work is already underway.

Nascimento tells WBSM News, a new Convention and Visitors Bureau board is aready working on marketing plans...

Nascimento says the grant represents a major vote of confidence by the state, in the Chambers efforts to rebuild a tourism agency in Bristol County.
