A Massachusetts kindergarten student is facing detention and a suspension of bus privileges after bringing a toy gun onto a school bus last week.

The toy is a Lego "G.I. Joe" rifle that is about an inch long. Another student yelled to the driver that there was a gun, causing a disturbance on the bus. Both kids had to write an apology letter to the driver.

The mother of the boy with the toy says she thinks the school is over-reacting in terms of punishment. The school sent home a letter to parents explaining there was never any danger and showing an actual size picture of the toy.
