Expect authorities to charge a young Acushnet woman with Reckless Endangerment of a Child under Age 18. Breanna McGrath is captured on a Facebook video with leaving her infant child in his car seat while she meandered inside the Gas Express convenience store in a not so great New Bedford neighborhood. To be more exact: across from a bar, a pizza parlor, Rite Aid, and a hot dog stand. A busy area on a hectic afternoon.

This is the second case in a week where a child has been left in a car seat while the responsible adult went inside a store. Last week, a grandfather simply forgot about his grandson while renewing with an old acquaintance.

McGrath, not only left her child in a car seat. She left the car windows down, pocket book in the vehicle with the engine running. According to the video the woman was in Gas Express for several minutes. The video-grapher took footage for well over two minutes. From my view, McGrath could not see outside to monitor her car or the child. Any unsavior character could have easily stolen the vehicle or kidnapped the child, if it wasn't for the guy with his cell phone shooting video and sticking by the car.

This is a serious case of very poor judgement. McGrath is guilty of leaving that child alone. The judge should slap her with six months probation. If Breanna has responsible parents in the area, DCF should hand temporary guardianship over to them, with full visitation and care rights to the mother. Further, McGrath should be ordered to attend parenting classes!
