Three Firms Submit Bids For Marine Terminal Project

The proposed $100 million Marine Commerce Terminal planned for New Bedford continues to advance. Friday was the deadline for submitting bids for the project.

Catherine Williams of the Mass. Clean Energy Center identifies the bidders as Cashman Weeks N-B of Quincy, Cashman Equipment Corp. of Braintree, and Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, LLC of Oak Bridge, Illionis.
Williams says a committee of engineers and state officails will now review the bids……

State officials say when completed, the terminal will be the first in the nation, designed to support the assembly and deployment of offshore wind turbines.
The facility will also handle high volume container shipping, and specialty marine cargo
