Three finalists have been named in the search for a Superintendent -Director of the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical School District.

Frederick Toomey, Chair of the Superintendent Search Committee said two of the candidates currently work at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.

James O'Brien currently serves as the the high school's Assistant Principal/Dean of Student Affairs, a position he has held since 2007.

O'Brien, who holds a Masters Degree in Occupational Education from Fitchburg State College, begin his tenure with the school in the the 1985-1986 school year as a Related Teacher Assistant and also held the positions of Related Electrical Instructor and Student Activities and School Services Director.

Robert Watt, serves as Voc-Tech's Career and Technical Principal, a postion he has held since 2014.

Watt, who holds a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University, joined the faculty in 1990 where he served as a Culinary Arts Instructor and also served as the Coordinator for Education, Health Services and Hospitality.

The third candidate is Robert Dutch, the Superintendent-Director of the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School District, a position he has held since 2012.

During his time at Upper Cape Dutch, who is currently enrolled in a Doctoral program at Northeastern University with an anticipated completion date of the Fall 2015, held positions including Assistant Principal and Principal.

Current superintendent Linda Enos has said she plans to retire in late October, but said that she would stay on until her successor was in place.
