Sometimes I don't think we realize how great the Southcoast is to live!  Here on the Southcoast we have everything from great beaches and parks to visit, fabulous restaurants and every convenience close by.

But, what makes it so great to live on the Southcoast is how close it is to other great places to visit, think about it you can be in Providence R.I. in minutes, Boston is less than an hour away and the beautiful Berkshires a couple of hours away Cape Cod in minutes.  I try to visit all of those places as much as I can, this weekend I went a little further.

I was invited to a friends place on lake Winnepesaki in New Hampshire, also just a couple of hours away!  All I have to say is WOW!  I have never been before and my first trip was amazing.  First of all the area is great for recreation no matter what you are into, fishing, boating, swimming, hiking in the summertime, skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing in the winter and so much more.  I have been to New Hampshire many times to snow ski in the winter but I have never been during the summer.  We stayed in town of Merideth witch is very nice.

Talking to some of the locals it seems that in the last couple of decades the area has exploded in popularity, it went from having affordable lake front homes to now having multi-million dollar homes.  What I really liked about it was how close this amazing place is, just a couple of easy hours in the car you are there!  Again, that's what makes where we live here on the Southcoast so great!  We can enjoy everything it has to offer and still be able to travel to these amazing places that are so close by.  While I was visiting I took advantage of every second of my time, I did everything! Including water skiing, now I have been on water ski's since I was 5 years old, and I was pretty good back in the day.  So when I hopped in the water yesterday I thought I would be up on the ski just like always, WRONG!

I don't know what happened but I think I blew a hamstring, ouch, I did not pop out of the water, I looked like a first timer on ski's.  So not only did I hurt myself, my pride was hurt too, my son was on the boat and I have been telling him how great I was, and I couldn't even get out of the water, double ouch!  I guess I will just have to go back to the pictures and tell him how it was...  Even though I hurt myself and my pride I would do it all over again, and I can't wait to go back and can't wait to find the next great place to visit with my starting point as the Southcoast.
